Flood protection
In the North of Germany, the Eider-Treene Deich- und Hauptsielverband is responsible for monitoring and managing the water levels in the rivers the Eider and the Treene and for providing flood protection for villages and cities on the river banks. Over the last decades, there have been a number of instances where the water level has been critical and, particularly in the the cities Tönningen and Friedrichstadt have been regularly threatened by floods. As the existing pump works that are managed by the Verband are struggling to cope with rising water levels, it has assessed their pump systems and decided to increase their pumping capacity. They required units that would offer high flows in combination with ease of handling. After providing a demonstration of the B300 tractor driven pumps, Eider Treene’s manager, Mr. Wollesen was impressed by the performance and selected the 12” self-priming pumps for the application. |
