Mobile BA200 diesel driven pump

The City Council of Karlsruhe is responsible for supplying energy and drinking water to the citizens of Karlsruhe, the second largest city of Baden-Würtenberg, Germany. The company credo is “Supplying utilities responsibly”, meaning that they focus on providing a reliable and continuous service, but also, doing so in an environmentally responsible manner.

The credo is applied throughout the company and when management established that a 25-year-old diesel driven pump unit did not meet their standards, they decided to invest into a state-of-the-art pumpset that would take the company into the 21st century. After assessing the requirements for the pump and combining these with the wishes and requests from the operators, BBA Pumps proudly supplied the city council with a vacuum assisted centrifugal pump from the BA range.

BBA Pumps BA200 K328 diesel driven pump in sound attenuating canopy

Based on the requirements and intended applications, BBA Pumps selected the BA200 K328 diesel driven pump, mounted in a sound attenuating canopy. With a flow capacity of up to 840 m3/h and a free passage of 105 mm, the BA200 ticked all the boxes. The pump is coupled to a Deutz diesel engine meeting the latest emission standards and offering extended fuel autonomy. The pumpset can be used for pumping sewage, suspensions and slurries making it a highly versatile pump unit. Like the previous pumpset, the BA200 has been mounted on a custom trailer suitable for highway use, allowing the pump to be deployed quickly across the city.

With this new pumpset, the City Council of Karlsruhe is ready for the future.
