Construction of waiting harbours in the Albert Canal

In the coming 2 years, a number of waiting harbours will be built in the Albert canal, which flows from Antwerp to Hasselt in Belgium. These docks need to be dug out using dredges.

In the pictures, you can see a dredging pump suspended in the crawler crane. A
BA-C100H1, powered by a 6 cylinder Volvo Penta diesel engine, is used to jet at a pressure of 12 bars, digging away at the bank and canal bottom, after which the dredging pump is used to pump away the sand/water mixture.
