BBA Pumps supplies flood control pumps
The area around Hranice in the CzechRepublic has been facing an increased flood threat over the last years. In response to this threat, it was decided to invest into pumping equipment to ensure that the area would have an increased protection for extreme meteorological circumstances. Together with the Czech company Disa from Brno and an international contractor, BBA has participated in a project to provide pumping equipment to the town of Moravicany. After establishing the requirements BBA has designed four 12” vacuum assisted centrifugal pumps mounted on custom built trailers from the BA300 range. These diesel driven units can be deployed quickly in case of emergency and can operate fully autonomous due to the 300 litre on-board fuel tank. The four sets have a combined maximum flow capacity of over 6000 m3/h and can prime even from dry conditions due to the powerful MP100 priming system. Early November the project was completed when a delegation from the CzechRepublic, led by Mr. Jaromir Halamicek from Disa and accompanied by the mayor of Moravičany, attended the final testing of the pump units. BBA arranged a complete factory tour, company introduction and a brief product training session which culminated in the testing of all four units on the BBA test stand in our Apeldoorn factory. All pumps passed final testing with flying colours, ensuring added protection for the town of Moravicany. | |||||||
