Sludge pumps - BV series
With the BV series auto prime sludge pump, BBA Pumps offers a series of vacuum assisted centrifugal pumps for abrasive liquids. Especially designed for pumping drilling sludges and bentonite in order to meet the toughest pump jobs.
Drilling processes are recognised as 'non-stop' chain processes. Every step in the process of making concrete, to drilling,
injecting and transporting the concrete overflow must be well prepared. Every small chain in this process which fails,
stops the complete drilling process.

The BV series offers:
* Reliable pump system:
The vacuum pump MP100 with large air handling capacity is an air cooled membrane pump, resistant for water entrance.
The BV series is suitable for dry running conditions thanks to the "Enduroseal". A high grade
mechanical seal with tungsten carbide
surfaces runs in an enlarged oil chamber for optimal cooling. A pressure relief chamber makes it
impossible for any liquid to enter the bearing housing.
* Large cost savings:
In the process of pumping drilling sludge, the BV series has integrated two pump systems in
one system. The diaphragm vacuum pump replaces the traditional submersible sludge pump
used for booster pump. The large air handling capacity makes a priming lift over long distances
possible. The heavy duty centrifugal pumps take care of transporting liquids with high density and
large particles i.e. bentonite. This pump with free passages up to 105 mm is known in the market as
the "miracle pump".
* Easy operation:
The vacuum diaphragm pump in combination with a simple mechanically operated float box
makes it simple for the dry prime system to start pumping. The float box is equiped with
quick release couplings for easy cleaning after a drilling shift. The vacuum pump needs no
forced cooling or extra lubrication.
* High grade of usability:
The BV series has proven itself not only in the construction industry but also for pumping raw
sewage water. This auto prime system has even found an application in the shipping industry.
